Last Blog Post

I'm finally here... What am I going to do with this blog after this?
I'm still working on my essay, but I just spent maybe 2-3 hours talking to my friend about a bunch of different things. My parents keep telling me to do my homework, but right now I'm still video chatting with her while I'm writing this post. I still have a little bit left for my essay, but I feel like my writing has downgraded throughout the whole paper.

This semester has been fun. I loved going to your class, other than the fact that it was in the morning- I liked writing these posts too, even though sometimes I couldn't get the motivation to write. A lot was poured into these posts and I don't want to just leave this blog after this, but what else can I do with it? I guess it's time for me to let it go~ <- no that was not supposed to be a Frozen reference :|
I hope you have fun with your job at that other school :) If you actually do decide to teach here online, I'll definitely take your class :)

Stress

I'm not really stressing out, but my friend and I want to watch an Korean award show together that's going to start tomorrow at 6am. If I want to be able to watch it live, I have to haul ass now and finish this paper, but I still have dance class to go to in about an hour and I'm not sure if I can finish this because I have no idea how to write these counterarguments. I don't know how to make them sound interesting or what evidence I can use in them. My sister is here cracking up to whatever videos she's watching and I'm here nfrebuievfoehfof
I'll go work on it now-

Reaction Videos

I was going to continue writing, but when I went to YouTube to find some inspiration, I started watching reaction videos again- I watched maybe 10 videos just now and I have no idea what I'm doing with my life.
I have a few more paragraphs left for my essay. I actually only started on Sunday, but I had everything planned out for a couple weeks now. It takes forever for me to actually start it because I'm never sure on how to start. It's always the introduction and the conclusion that get me. Once I actually started, it got easier and everything just kind of flowed out. I'm going to start on my counterarguments, but I need a little more research to get there. I need to find some food first because I haven't eaten since 11:00 and I'm craving something to munch on-

BTS

So BTS released a new music video a few days ago. I watched it a couple days ago, but it's still in my mind. I'm going to use this space to kind of rant I guess.
So this new album is a part 2 of their album released earlier this year. That music video released with part 1 was so confusing and everyone immediately started coming up with theories. A lot of people believed that there would be a second music video to explain it because we were all confused af. They did come out with another music video I think a couple weeks or so after that, but it was just for their follow up song that they were promoting so no real continuation in the storyline. Anyways, people were still waiting for it when they released a "prologue," which continued with the story, but only confused us more. During their concert, there was a video that, again, continued, but didn't explain, the story.
AND NOW, part 2 is out and we finally have the other music video that we were hoping would explain what happened in the first one. Can I just say that the sadness that I felt with the first music video was multiplied x100, yet I'm still confused af. There's just so much going on and I can't wrap my head around it. All these videos were released with the same story, but not in chronological order and all of them had scenes changes and the past mixed with present and there was just no explanation everywhere. Instead of getting the explanation we were all hoping for, we're back to coming up with theories and looking for answers. What the heck are we supposed to do with this?? It did nothing but play with out feels :(

Thanksgiving

Maybe it's silly to be writing about a day where I didn't do much, but I need the posts now- Basically it was like any other day, except my parents were home because they closed the restaurant for the day. I slept in pretty late and then got up to eat. My mom wanted me to bake a cake that day. It turned out okay, though baking is so hard in this little apartment. We used to have a pretty big kitchen in our old house, had an island and everything, so I had plenty of space. Here, I have to make everything on our small table in the dining room and run back and forth between the dining room and the kitchen to get stuff. It's sooooo frustrating. And it makes a mess too- I hate it A LOT.
That's literally all I did that day. My aunt and cousin's from my dad's side kept asking us to go with them out to eat. It would be a 2 hour drive to get up there to Maryland/northern Virginia. None of us really wanted to go. I've spent almost my whole life hanging out with people from my dad's side, yet I still don't like them as much as the people from my mom's side. The people from my mom's side are all generally nice and we have a very good relationship with all of them, but we can't stand the people from my dad's side. My dad's family all have a bad relationship with each other. They're always arguing, mainly about money. My oldest uncle is the absolute worst. He owns many restaurants and has a lot of money, so he always brags about it. His daughters.... I wouldn't say they brag a lot, but they're very gossipy and judgmental. My sister and I used to have a very good relationship with them, we used to hang out all the time and we grew up together, but we never talk to them now. I would say our relationship is still pretty good, nothing has happened for us to noticeably hate each other, we just became distant. We just don't talk to them anymore. We grew up and have different interests now so we don't bond anymore. I always say that I grew up like this because of them.
When I lived in China with my mom's side of the family, they were already here in the US, so I didn't know them. I lived there from when I was a few months old until I was 4. The only other kid in the house at the time was my older cousin. I was the only girl so my grandparents and my aunt babied me a lot. I always got what I want and apparently I talked a lot. I started school when I was 2, though it was pretty much just day care for me, I was pretty bossy towards the other kids, or at least that's what my mom told me.
When I came here to the US, I spent a lot of time with my oldest uncle's daughters. They were very outgoing and spoke very well, and there were three of them. I always followed along, never really saying anything. That's why I think I'm so shy and reserved now. Of course, there are many other things that contribute to it, but that seems like the main reason.
This blog post was way longer than it was supposed to be, but there's the story of my life :)

Watch2gether

For the past few weeks, my friend and I have been using this website to watch videos together. It's useful because we're both soooo behind on music videos so we get to watch them together this way. I think we spent maybe 10 hours each week just watching random videos. We haven't done it recently because...I actually don't know why. We just haven't had time or there's nothing really to watch. We have video chatted and talked to each other though. She says she'll be coming during the winter to hang out :) I haven't seen her since she came here for my graduation in June. I still have half of her birthday present to give her and her <3 day present. It sounds weird, but we actually have a <3 day. I don't know, I think I was sitting around and suddenly thought of it last year. It's the date exactly in between our birthdays :)

I Messed Up-

So I though I had 38 posts, but apparently I only had 33 so now I'm sitting here the day before it's due like "WTF AM I SUPPOSED TO WRITE ABOUT???" I don't know, maybe I'll think of something as I'm writing.
The semester's ending, but it doesn't feel real. This semester went by sooooo quickly. It was pretty fun, but I wish I took up more classes. I only had 4 in total, so I felt like a lot of time was wasted. But it's okay, I'll try to make it up. I'm taking classes over the summer to make up for this coming spring semester that I won't be taking classes. My recruiter finally gave me the date that I'll be shipping out for boot camp, January 26. I'm not ready :( I'm scared, yet I feel like I'll be fine. Maybe that's just wishful thinking, but I'm hoping I can get through it.
I'm going to leave this post off at that so I can write more :)

I'm So Tired...

So Wednesday morning, my dad and I had to wake up early to prepare a $1400+ catering order. We were running back and forth and it was so tiring. We had another one after that, though not as big. I originally planned to finish the order and then head to class, but we were running late so I couldn't make it.
We closed early that night and headed home to shower and pack up for our trip back to Canada. I drove for about 2-3 hours. I wanted to drink my Red Bull and drive longer, but my dad wouldn't let me.
After many breaks here and there, we finally arrived around 1 pm. From there, we got ready to head to my grandpa's funeral. My grandma looked really sad the whole time. When we finally got to the funeral home, she broke down crying and we were all standing there watching her. I don't know what made me cry more, seeing her like that, or seeing my grandpa lying there. He looks so different from when I last saw him, much thinner than before. The whole thing lasted for hours, my sister and I crying on and off. At one point, I had to escort each kid out one at a time to sneak them some chocolate because they were hungry.
We have to wake up early tomorrow for the burial so that's all I'll write about for now.

And Now I'm Home

After spending the night, my dad, my sister, and I headed home because of school. We had to take my cousin back to her dorm too. We stopped and ate a lot on the way back. I think we stopped about 4 times. I'm super tired now, but I have a paper due on Wednesday so ughhhh. We'll be heading back up there Wednesday night.

This Might Sound Weird But...

I'm in Canada right now. My grandpa was in the hospital with leukemia and he got worse overnight so Saturday morning, at about 6, my mom woke us up and told us that we're going to Canada. We actually drove here, with my parents and I taking turns. I drove first because I always feel sick when I'm in a car, but not driving it. An hour into the drive, my aunt called and told us that my grandpa passed away. I haven't seen him in about 2-3 years and now he's gone. He was always asking about when we would go visit him, but we didn't make it in time. Now, the whole family's here and everything's crazy.
I wish I could stay longer, but because of school and the restaurant, my dad, my sister, and I are heading home Sunday morning (today). That doesn't give us much time here since we only got here at about 10 pm. My mom will be staying up here with the rest of the family to settle everything. She says that they're planning to have the funeral on the 20th, so we'll have to drive back up here then.
This whole day has been a mess. There were some times when I felt sad, and then others when I felt very neutral. I don't know, it just feels weird. It's hard to believe he's gone.

Fresh Start

I was having problems with my laptop and it was really frustrating me. The screen is supposed to rotate like a tablet, but it wasn't rotating. It never did. Okay, it did for a little while when I bought it, but stopped after the first day. I called Dell Tech Support and they went in and downloaded a bunch of stuff. It worked that day and then stopped working again. After that, my laptop started having problems with the sound. I ended up calling the number on the warranty I bought with the laptop and they told me to do a factory reset. It took FOREVER, but after putting all my stuff back on, it's working fine now.
I had to reset my phone too because the battery was draining really fast. I don't think I lost anything, but now I have to log back into all my apps and it's just so time-consuming. I think it's a little better now, but I'm not sure.

So I'm Eighteen Now...

Now what? What "special privileges" do I get? I don't know, but nothing's different. All I have is the knowledge that I'm a year older now.
I didn't really do anything for my birthday. I don't think I've really done anything for years now. I feel like nothing good ever happens on my birthday. Like yesterday, I dropped my phone TWICE. It was painful.
As you can probably tell, I have nothing interesting to write about. I'm kind of just bs-ing my way through this- but maybe I'll think of something or something will happen later and I can write another post about it.

Potatoes

I love potatoes for some reason. It's to the point where when I get potato wedges from KFC, I dip them in mashed potatoes. That sounds weird, but mashed potatoes are literally the only thing I've ever dipped my potato wedges into. So right now, I'm sitting here with a bowl of rice, potatoes, and sweet potatoes and I swear it's like heaven-

The Boredom is Real

I'm so bored right now that I just sat here and organized my whole calendar. I have a test that I need to turn in by Sunday night and another one next Thursday but I just don't feel like it- That's not a very good excuse.
I have to go to training again next week. We usually only have it at the end of the month, but because of Thanksgiving, we're having it next week. I usually drive up there Friday afternoons, but next Friday we have a JumpStart meeting and I kind of want to go. I'll probably have to leave early. I originally planned to buy this sort of face mask for training because last time I went, I got bad wind burn and it hurt for a week :( I didn't have time to order one so I'll just have to moisturize suuuuuper well.
Apparently, we're going to be on planes next time...handing out candy canes to little kids. I don't really understand why we're handing out candy canes in November, but okay whatever they want.
And hey! I'm almost 18! My birthday's on November 5th and I'm excited, but not excited at the same time? I don't know. It's nice to be 18 because you're sort of an "adult" now, but I'm getting older :(

Crazy Week

I've literally been living off of energy drinks this week. I've had at least one can a day and it just sucks. It burns my throat, but keeps me awake. After training this past weekend, I got thrown into school and work every day because mom had to go to Canada. My dad hired a guy from another Quiznos restaurant to work in the mornings while I'm at school and he is soooo annoying. He's worked for the company for about 9 years now, I understand, but I freaking know how to run my own restaurant- I've been here for almost two years! I stopped by between classes to help out today because my dad had to deliver a catering order. He told the workers that I'm in charge while he's gone. Apparently when my dad got back and I left to go to class, he told my dad that he shouldn't "leave a child in charge." I was so mad when I heard that. Whenever I told him he was doing something wrong, he gave me a look. Just because he's older and has more experience with the company, doesn't mean I don't know how things work in this restaurant. I swear if he comes back I'm gonna have to fight him-

Buried Treasure

I decided to go through a bunch of old pictures yesterday and man there was A LOT.

This was from an old family album. We have this running joke in our family because in all the 50 million pictures taken of me when I was little, I almost always have this same facial expression. This is the facial expression that apparently makes me look mean now.

I just realized that I don't know where the rest of my pictures are and I'm FREAKING OUT. WHAT THE HECK.

Great Pacific Garbage Patch

AP ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE IS ACTUALLY USEFUL THIS YEAR. I took the class last year only because I wanted an AP science class, but so far it's helped me with my paper for International Relations. To be honest, I really didn't think I would ever use anything I learned in that class.
Anyways, back on topic. I did a little research on the garbage patch. Apparently, you can't see it from space. That's kind of weird because it's so big. I understand people are working together to PREVENT it from growing, but why can't the world be nice and work together to clean it up :(

Sodium Laureth Sulfate

I mean, I don't really know how I feel. I know it's bad, I should probably be disgusted with all the articles saying it causes irritation and it being a carcinogen and stuff but hey, its cheap. Of course companies are going to use it. I know that something should be done about it, but what can I do about it in the mean time, not wash my hair? Make homemade soap? Those are literally all I can think of.

Horrible Training and Drive Home

So this whole weekend was basically leg day.."leg day every day." My legs are burning and I swear I pulled a muscle in my foot. We did a whole lot of running, which was good for building up strength in our legs and stamina, but oh my gosh it hurts-
Last night, I went to sleep at about 9:00, so I had about 8 hours of sleep. Despite that, I felt soooo tired and sleepy today. We met up in a conference room on base at 7:00, then went straight outside for our run. It was so tiring, but I made it the whole way! It was about 40 degrees while we were running and the wind BURNS. Nature is not nice. During warm seasons, you get summer. During colder seasons, you get wind burn. That just sucks.
We finished everything for the morning at 9:45 and we went back to the hotel to shower and eat lunch. The sergeant that trains us usually lets us out at about 10:45 and we come back at 12:30, but Since we got out at 9:45, that gave us almost 3 hours of nothingness. We have to check out of the hotel at 11:00, so everyone sat in the parking lot outside of the building we meet up in for about an hour playing on our phones.
When we all went inside, we played a game to help us learn ranks. It's the same every time: sergeant asks us the pay grade of one of the ranks, we have to get it right or do push ups. He actually didn't make us do many this time.
After that, we went to a little ceremony. It was a promotion ceremony thing. I think the woman was getting promoted to Lieutenant Colonel or Colonel. All of us in the training flight stood in the back during the whole thing. A couple of the other people said they felt bad that we have to stand through the whole thing and were trying to tell us to sit, but the sergeant smiled his wicked smile and said, "Oh they're fine, they've been sitting all day." Right after that, he went on to say that we ran/walked the equivalent of a 5k today. But still, we stood there and waited for the ceremony to end. When it ended, there was cake and punch. We had to wait until everyone finished so we could clean up. We could only leave after we cleaned up. I was so ready to get out of there because I was soooo tired and just wanted to get home.
I stopped by the gas station to fill up my tank real quick and buy some food for my trip. An hour and a half into my drive, I started getting super sleepy. I wanted to stop at a gas station, but there were none around. It was literally a long road of houses and farms, nothing else. When I finally found one, I went inside to buy a Monster. I hate energy drinks, I can't really drink carbonated drinks period. The fizz just burns, but I needed it to keep me awake. After I drank it, the rest of my ride was a little too crazy. I had so much energy, I didn't know what to do with myself. I also noticed that the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel is not only super long and scary, but may or may not be tilted a little. I don't know, but my car seemed tilted the whole way.
Another thing that I hate about driving to Delaware is that you start driving and the GPS tells you to take this exit in 4 miles, then take this other exit in 3 miles. After that, "Continue straight for 97 miles." Every time, it literally kills me on the inside. Even after that, you take a few more exits and you drive for 74 more miles. That many miles down the same road gets so boring, it's really not a surprise that I start talking to myself.

Spent the Day Driving

My whole day was wasted...I'm in Delaware again. They changed our hotels and I didn't get the email until AFTER I lugged all my things into the first hotel. Then, I had to being them all back outside and go to the other one. I don't even have that much stuff!
While I was driving, I had random thoughts that were so weird. I realized that school buses have so much power. I mean when they have their lights on, they have the power to stop all traffic and that just blew my mind-
I'm so tired and I want to go to sleep, but I still have to shower and everything. I'm so lazy D: I thought I would have more to write about today, but it was actually pretty uneventful.

Lying in Bed

I showered early today so now I'm lying in bed, trying to figure out what to write about. I decided that I would write my process essay on baking cupcakes, but I'm not sure how to write everything. I have to do more research on it. We're supposed to have an 'uncle' coming from Maryland to look at a few restaurants with my dad. He's going to be staying in our living room, which I think might be a problem because my sister leaves pretty early for school so she might wake him.
Okay but really, I have nothing to write about. I just want to finish this essay so I can go back to Netflix, maybe even do some more binge watching before passing out for the night.

Have a funny picture :)

Homework

I'm not very sure what I should be working on right now. I want to study up on my math, but I need to write my paper. Then again I have to write that process essay. I was asking my sister for topic suggestions because I can't think of anything and she gave me this:

And guess what! This was trending on Facebook:

Procrastination

I just spent my Saturday watching Criminal Minds. I need to clean and do chores and stuff, but I really don't want to. I haven't done anything productive in days and that's bothering me, but I still don't feel like doing anything. As you can probably tell, I actually don't have anything to write about.
I think I'll go do my chores now. I still have to write that essay, study for a midterm, and start on a 4-5 page paper that's due next month. Oh my life...

Acorn is the Meanest Bish Ever-

She friggin clawed at my hand! She was just laying there and then started biting on my shoe. I tried to give her a toy to play with, but she swiped at it a few times before hitting my hand. Her claw dug into my finger and I had to pull it out :( She hisses at other cats too. Another one jumped her while I was about to leave. After today, I'm not so sure I'm a cat person anymore. Maybe I should stick with dogs, they're nicer and not as sassy. I don't know why I even started liking cats in the first place. The kittens are adorable though. I got to play with one of them. I'm not supposed to let them out, but the one I was playing with kept trying to jump off my lap.

I Need to Get My Life Together

I missed my Trio meeting yesterday. I scheduled it to be between my two classes yesterday because I have an hour between them, but I was in the library working on stuff and forgot about it. I went in there and rescheduled it for 2 pm today because the two times that were available before that were 9 am and 11:30 am, but I have class at 9 and 11. So the thought was I would have about an hour after my 11 am class until the meeting. I just remembered just now sitting here that my 11 am class is canceled. That means I have about 3 hours of nothing before the meeting. That just sucks.
I woke up late this morning, maybe because I went to sleep at about 5 am. I had a stomach ache that kept me up all night. I don't feel sleepy, but all I want to do is go home and sleep. I think I might head home after this class to eat and do some research for my paper. I don't really want to go home because I know I won't feel like doing my work, but I'll try to do it. Gosh my life is a mess- I need to stop watching Netflix

Delivery

I had to go to our restaurant straight after school today because my dad is in New York for a funeral. I usually go there anyways and sit there doing homework. My mom told me to pick up my sister after she got home from school and head to Wells Fargo to make a deposit, before heading to the restaurant. As I was about to leave, the phone rang. We take delivery orders, but I don't usually deliver them so I thought I was just going to take the order and wait until my mom got back from delivering it before leaving. When I picked up the phone, I noticed the Caller ID said Patient First. I started thinking that my mom would probably make me send it because I'm so used to going over there now. I heard the voice over the phone and thought, "That voice sounds familiar." I asked for the usual phone number and address, just in case the Caller ID was wrong. When I asked for the name, I realized that it was my doctor :D Of course then I would have to deliver because I know what he looks like. He gave me a $3 tip, which isn't much, but anything's better than that one tip I got a few months back. Next to our restaurant is the Nissan dealership. The owner orders from us frequently and my parents would send my sister and I over there when he orders because it's just a short walk. My sister would get the biggest tips from him, ranging from $2 to $5. My dad usually gets the least, I think the least was 25 cents. So one day I go over there to take him his order. He gave me 5 cents. A frickin nickel. :( :( :( A little while later, while I was talking about it with my mom, I remembered it wrong and said it was 50 cents, BUT my sister said, "Wasn't it 5 cents?" I froze and stared at her for a few seconds before literally facepalming and screaming, "IT WAS 5 CENTS OH MY GOD." From then on, whenever my mom asks me to deliver over there, I give her a look and mention that unforgivable excuse for a tip.

Vocabulary

As I said in class earlier today, I didn't study for the test. I forgot all about and I was so mad at myself because I was sitting at home doing nothing last night. I feel like I told myself last week to study over the weekend, but just forgot. Thank goodness there's Quizlet.

LIFE SAVER
It really helps a lot, or at least I think so. You have to get the definition of the term EXACTLY RIGHT for it to be considered correct so it's good for memorizing the whole definition instead of only bits and pieces of it. I used it for a lot of my classes in high school, but it was hard for a few of them. For example, "Bacteria that live in the intestines (including the colon) of humans and other animals, used as a measure of the presence of feces in water or soil." Like really, I'm not going to remember that.

I realized something when I was sending the resume to you. Apparently sometime last week, probably while I was high off cold medicine, I actually did attempt to do the extra credit sentences. I was about to get angry at myself again for forgetting to turn it in, until I opened the file.

Look at that. Just beautiful :)

ANOTHER Visit to the Doctor

I finally gave in and went to Patient First about my cold yesterday. I didn't think much of it, but apparently I have bronchitis and I gave it to my sister. We had to get our blood drawn and a flu shot. I'm fine with getting blood drawn, but my sister hates it so much. She used to cry about just any needles, but I guess she's gotten over it and now is only bothered by getting blood drawn. When the nurse walked into the room, every time she asked who was going first, my sister was so quick to point at me. I mean, I'm okay with going first, but dang really?
So all together now, with my medicine for my wrists, I have to take two pills and use an inhaler and nasal spray. That nasal spray is NASTY. Like you spray it up your nose but then after a few moments you start to taste it in the back of your throat and it's so EWWWW. Okay I'm done complaining-

Volunteer

Toda was my first day volunteering at The Cat Corner. It was pretty fun because CATSSSSSS. My mom's scared of cats... and dogs... and just about everything. I've always wanted a cat, but my mom would go crazy with one in the house. That's why I decided to volunteer instead, so I can hang out with cats and do something good at the same time. A few of them bit me, one hissed at me, and another bit my hair and tugged on it to get my attention. There was this one black cat that was just so cuddly. She stayed in my lap and let me pet her forever and it was just so adorable.

Late Night Blogging/Recap of My Week

This week has been so ughhh. I've been sick all week so literally all I've done after class is come home and sleep. I feel fine during the day, but once I get home, I feel like crap and I just lay on the couch and sleep for the rest of the day until someone wakes me up to tell me to go to bed. I've done almost no homework or studying this whole week. I had to write my whole essay today and I hope it sounds okay, but it's hard to write a descriptive essay about online shopping without turning it into a research paper. I'm sitting in bed right now writing this blog post after I finished icing my wrists. I'm so bored and don't feel like sleeping but it's frickin almost 4 am. BUT ANYWAYS
There was this one day this week (I can't remember which day it was) where I drank about 8 or 9 bottles of water and it made me so uncomfortable. With all the sleeping, I haven't had time to eat properly so I lost about 4 pounds, which is a problem because I have to stay over my minimum or my training sergeant will say something about it. All the people training with me are worried about staying under their maximum requirements and I'm here like "TEACH ME HOW TO GAIN WEIGHT." My minimum requirement is either 100 or 104 pounds, I'm not sure which one because I'm between 61 and 62 inches tall. When I went to MEPS in April, I had to eat more the night before to gain weight. Even then, I was only 98 pounds, but they didn't say anything. Now, 5 months later, I just barely hit 105, but being sick brought me back down so now I'm mad :( I don't even want to gain weight though. Being over 100 pounds bothers me for some reason. Like...just seeing that number mentally pains me and I just- no.
But yeah so anyways...I don't actually remember what I did this week. I know that on Thursday I came home after my first class and sat in the dining room drinking a bowl of soup before leaving for my next class. That was fun, I guess.
Okay I'm starting to get really boring and losing inspiration AND motivation so I'll just go to bed now-

Border Control

Because I don't have anything to write about my day/week, I'll just write about an experience I had a few years ago.
During the summer, my mom, my sister, and I were planning on visiting my grandparents in Canada. We were heading up there in a van with my mom's friend and his daughter. On our way to Canada and coming back into the United States, we were stopped by Border Control. Apparently our whole situation was weird.
First of all, it was a group of Chinese people trying to get across the border. I guess that itself could be suspicious because really, Chinese people are shady af. Beware of Chinese people, I'm not kidding.
Second, when my mom and her friend told the people that they weren't married, they found it odd that we were traveling together. To make things worse, the van we were in didn't belong to my mom's friend, it belonged to his friend.
Lastly, my mom's friend's daughter and I have the same name, Cindy Li. I knew it was a common name, but really how much more suspicious can we get. I really think he copied my mom because I was born first but whatever-
So this happened twice and I really don't know what we expected, trying to cross the border in this situation. In hindsight, it wasn't a very good idea but hey, we made it across. It was interesting and I guess you could say it was fun?

P.S. on our way back we may or may not have picked up some random Chinese people we didn't know just standing around at the border so....

Because I Can't Have One Normal Day

I didn't have any classes today, but my sister did and my parents had to go to work, so I was left home alone. I woke up around 10 and brought my sister's lunch to her at school. When I came home, I made breakfast for myself and sat down to play games on my laptop. While I was playing, I noticed that my laptop was unusually slow and the speakers were making weird cracking noises. I told me dad and decided to take it to Office Depot tomorrow.
When I finished eating, my dad told me to head over to the restaurant because he needed to pick his car up from the shop. He also told me to bring the warranty card for my laptop and a phone he was selling. I put my laptop in my bag and pulled a few books out of it so it wouldn't be so happy. Then, I went to look for the warranty card. I knew that when I registered my laptop, I put the card in a safe place so I wouldn't lose it. Problem was that I forgot the safe place. I then went to grab the phone my dad was selling out of the bag it was in, but it was gone. I remember it being packed in its box, sitting inside the bag next to our computer. I looked in the bag multiple times before calling my dad.
My dad had me running around the house for about 5 minutes looking for the phone before telling me to leave it and that he'll look for it when he gets home. I then told him that I forgot the safe place where I put my warranty card. I thought he would be angry with me because he specifically told me not to lose it. On the contrary, he wasn't angry and actually knew where it was. He said, "Did you check the safe?"
The safe. The safe. Of course it would be there. Of course my safe place would be the freaking safe.
So after I grabbed it out of the safe, I went to put it in my bag. Halfway there, I stopped walking and stared at my bag. There was a box sticking out of it. I bent down and grabbed it. It was the phone, the phone I just spent 5 minutes looking for. I know I didn't put it in there though. I don't recall sticking my hand in the bag that the phone was in and finding it there. I don't recall feeling the box in hands. Heck I didn't even know what the box looked like until I saw it sitting on my bag. It was sitting there so unnaturally. So...uncindy-ish. (That's how unnatural it was.)
I couldn't get over it and kept thinking about it the whole drive to work. It just kept bothering me. My dad said I'm losing my mind, but I swear I'm not.
Later on, while I was at our restaurant, I tried to hear those cracking noises from my laptop's speakers again to show my dad. When I heard it at home, it was every time my laptop made a sound, whether it be the music I played, the music from my game, or just the usual computer sounds. When I tried to hear it again, it didn't make those noises. The noises were gone and my laptop was back to normal speed. I don't know what the problem was. It only happened while I was at home, alone.
And now, as I'm typing this, my laptop's fan is making an unusual amount of noise. Send help ㅠ~ㅠ

It's Only Tuesday...

I originally planned to write on Sunday, but my day didn't turn out the way I planned. I woke up that morning and went to training. We have PT in the morning on Sundays and it was fine. I wasn't as tired as I was last time because I couldn't do the push ups, mountain climbers, burpees, and all those other exercises where I need to use my hands and wrists. I ended up doing maybe 100-200 jumping jacks. I checked out that morning, which was a bad idea, so I showered in this other girl's room. We planned to head across the street to McDonald's for lunch, but another trainee talked us out of it and we ended up heading back to the base and eating at the Landing. There were sooo many people and it made me nervous. After lunch, we didn't do much. That afternoon, I was planning on heading home after I ate, but I checked my phone and it was about to die. I slept in my car for about 2 hours while I waited for my phone to charge. When I left, it was 6:30. It's a four hour drive to get home so I was tired and just went to bed.
I was sore when I woke up Monday morning, and I really didn't want to go to class. I pulled myself out of bed and realized that if I just keep walking, the soreness doesn't feel as bad. After my classes, I originally planned to go to the grocery store to buy ingredients for the cupcakes I was going to make for International Club's bake sale. I didn't realize that my parents would make me stay at work until about 8:00. I had to hurry to buy everything and make the cupcakes. I finished around 11 and the mess was huge. The cupcakes were delicious by the way :)
Now it's Tuesday and I just want it to be the weekend already. I have dance class tonight and I'm not looking forward to moving my sore muscles.

Training: Day 1

So I’m writing this at 11 am, but I won’t be able to post it until later. We finished with the first part of our day and we’re having our lunch break right now. I always just go to the gas station and buy a snack. I’m eating it in my car because I have to work on some homework. We’re having PT later on and I don’t want to eat too much. We may not be able to run because it looks like there’s going to be a thunderstorm.
I had some apple sauce this morning and my stomach has been feeling crappy all day. I think it was probably too cold. My mom and I both don’t have good stomachs so there’s a lot we can’t eat. I really shouldn’t wat a lot of cold food, but I can’t just sit here and eat a bowl of soup or anything. Maybe tomorrow I’ll get like a Hot Pocket.
-----
I don’t know much about birds or animals in general, but when HUGE flocks start flying away, is it alright to assume it’s going to thunder? Because when I say huge, I mean HUGE.
-----
I finished training for today! We did some team building exercises while it rained, but the rain stopped so we ended up going outside for our run after the exercises. I cut 2 minutes off my run time! I'm not sure if it's because I got better or because I was feeling sick last time. Now I'm back in my hotel room, sitting by the window sill, eating Chinese food and watching TV.

The rest of my day will probably be spent doing homework and stretching to make sure I won't be sore for tomorrow.

I'm in Delawareeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

...again. I just drove four hours to gt here for my training weekend. I'm not looking forward to going, but if I didn't, I won't get paid :( This hotel is way better than the one we stayed in last time. I don't know if I'll have a roommate, but there's two beds in this room. I'm nervous about tomorrow because this is only my second training weekend, and I have to do it in splints. The sergeant said that he'll make something up for me so I'm worried it'll be something like running the whole time.
My mom used to worry about me driving long distances because she's afraid I'll fall asleep while I'm driving. I don't fall asleep because I have my own ways of staying away. I sing along to my music and talk to myself the whole four hours so it's almost impossible for me to fall asleep. I do get bored though, very very very bored. When you're driving down one road for ninety miles, you start to question the meaning of life. Now that I'm here, I don't know what to do. I'm eating my dinner and trying to figure out which of my homework assignments I should start on, but I really don't want to work on any of them.

I'm Behind on Posts...

I think I only wrote one post last week. I meant to write more but I couldn't think of anything to write and, before I knew it, the week already went by. I'll probably have more to write about this weekend because I'm going back up to Delaware again.
Today's Labor Day so my dad decided that we should close the restaurant early. By 4:40, we had everything cleaned up and my sister and I were getting in the car ready to go. Then my mom called and told my dad that we should stay open longer so we had to go back inside and bring everything back out again. Needless to say, I was annoyed. But hey, I'm home now so :)
I had to go to Patient First to get my wrists checked out because they've been hurting recently. I had to wait for an hour before getting an X-ray done. While I was waiting, I really really had to use the bathroom so my dad told me to go quickly. When I walked over to the bathroom door, I wasn't sure if it was just one bathroom or stalls so I opened the door without thinking. I saw legs and things on the floor so I said sorry and tried to close the door but the lady inside stopped me. When I opened the door more, I noticed that there was a wheelchair in the bathroom and the lady was on the floor. I freaked outttttttt. She said that her nurse was supposed to be helping her but didn't come back. I told her I would go get a nurse and walked out the bathroom. There was another lady standing at the door of one of the rooms across from the bathroom. She was either a patient or came with someone else. She asked me if the lady in there fell and I told her she did. She said "Yeah I heard it but I wasn't sure." I was soooooooooooooooooooo mad. She knew that they lady was in a wheelchair, yet when she heard her fall, she didn't bother to check. What kind of person would do that??
I ended up not using the bathroom because my doctor came. He checked my wrist and told me that they're a bit swollen and probably caused by making subs at work. I don't really think it's from making subs because I've been doing it for almost two years now and it's only now starting to hurt. Now I have to wear wrist splints on both arms while I work and have to take anti-inflammatory medicine.
And that's how my Labor Day went. :)

Wow I'm so behind on posts this week. This week is actually going by really fast so I didn't have anything to write about until today.
So because our class was cancelled this morning, I decided to sleep in. I almost overslept and ended up rushing to get to my 11:00 class. I was running back and forth getting my things together, and when I finally arrived on campus, it was already 10:55. When I got to class, I found out it was cancelled. I was so mad at myself for not checking my email. During the JumpStart program, the peer mentors reminded us to always check our email. Now I know why. I didn't have any other classes today so I really didn't need to come but jgioreniogrenkvoldekvcx.
I went straight to work after that. I was wearing shorts and a sleeveless shirt so my dad told me to change into a uniform shirt and put on an apron. Problem was that wearing the apron makes me look like I'm not wearing any pants from the front. I really didn't want to wear it but I had to. At least it kept my white shorts clean.
This might be weird but I think I developed a girl crush over the weekend :O
She's just so pretty-

I made the minimum for the week! Yayyyyy~

But yeah I really don't have anything to talk about. Oh oh oh I was watching new music videos last night! I'm behind on my kpop but I'm trying to catch up ㅠ~ㅠ So just now, as I'm writing this post, I made a HUGE discovery (feel free to close this blog post and go on with your life).
So the music video I watched last night was for this sort of new group called BEATWIN. I wanted to look them up a bit more before I mentioned them in this post, so I did. I found a page with their profile on it and a list of the members. I looked at it, then go to the list of former members. In the list, there was a guy named Hyeontae.
So he's listed as being in the sub-unit Under Dogg (and currently in Topp Dogg). That's where it gets weird because I'm familiar with Topp Dogg (another group that debuted I think two years ago) and never heard of him being in there. So I did a little more research about Topp Dogg. I always knew about Under Dogg, but never actually knew what they were. Rather than a sub-unit to Topp Dogg, they're more like a group of trainees that the company calls a sub-unit to Topp Dogg to gain popularity before debut. Anyways, I continued looking at Topp Dogg's profile for a bit and learned that Under Dogg records with Topp Dogg for some of the songs Topp Dogg has on their album in other languages. I also learned that, apparently, Topp Dogg and Under Dogg are grouped together at concerts as Topp Dogg G(lobal). I already knew that the company they're under is over-ambitious, but this was a bit much.

And as I continued looking at the list of Under Dogg members, this guy came back up.

Han Jiwon. So I've seen his face plenty of times, but there was something that always bothered me. A year or two ago, MR.MR, another boy group, announced that they were adding a new member, Jiwon. This new member stood out to me because he was a rapper, and they never had any rappers in their group (until a few months later when one of the other members started to rap, and can I just say he's so fnreoniosngre <3). A few weeks after it was announced that Jiwon was joining MR.MR, the company released a statement saying Jiwon had injured himself and would not be taking part in the group's upcoming comeback. I was sad, but didn't think much of it because we didn't see much of him anyways. The group later added another member to replace him.

I received one of my Topp Dogg albums one day, and as I was looking through the photo book, I noticed this Jiwon. ^ I was confused and kept wondering if he was the same Jiwon. I never looked into it unTIL TODAY WHEN THIS CAME UP.

IT IS HIMMMMMMMMMM. I KNEW ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. Okay maybe I didn't know it, but it's him!! I don't know why I'm so excited about it, but finally knowing this just makes me so happy and I don't know what to do with this new information +_+ Why do I care so much? I have no idea to be honest. This feels just like that time I realized that the other new member of MR.MR was a popular ulzzang that I was already familiar with since a while ago. I don't think I should get into that story, but it's actually pretty interesting and I still can't believe it today.

I need to stop looking at stuff while writing blog posts because I just found out that another group I like UNOFFICIALLY DISBANDED. OH MY GOSH. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FEEL. WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN. HOW. I'M SO CONFLICTED.

DMTN got me through ninth grade with their music. I'm sad now.

edit: I went through so many emotions in one blog post, I feel drained ㅠ_ㅠ

So before I start, I just wanted to mention that I can't comment on blog posts or reply to comments on blog posts so :(
I met up with my mentor today and we ended up hanging out for about 2-3 hours. I told her about kpop and she said that she didn't know Korean music was a thing (insert mental facepalm). She told me about International Club and I think I might join. It seems fun, at least more fun than the International Club at my high school. Apparently I have to meet with her once a week, which isn't a bad thing, but having to schedule it around my classes, her classes, and her other appointments makes it kind of..ugh.
There's this guy that works at a Japanese restaurant by our restaurant. He's also a freshman at TNCC. He told my mom that I look mean at school. =_= It was funny because I already knew that. I always knew that I looked mean when I'm not around friends or talking to other people in general, but I've never had anyone actually point it out.
Oh and I got a new laptop today! My dad and I went to the store and looked at this one laptop for a while before he decided on a completely different one, but since he's the smarty, I just went with it. I'm excited to unpack it from the box, but I told myself I wouldn't until I finished my homework. At least I have motivation to do it now. All I really have to do is study anyways.
I always think I have so much to write about until I actually start writing. Maybe one day I'll be able to write a blog post so long that I'll be too lazy to reread it.

Just to Humor Myself

Well since we need to have at least 40 posts by the end of the semester, and I really don't feel like doing my other homework, I guess I'll do a little introduction. My name is Cindy Li; born in Washington D.C, and raised in Maryland. Both of my parents were from the same city in China, Fuzhou. I'm 17-years-old right now, and will be turning 18 in November. I have 1 younger sister, Sabrina, and no pets, because my mom's a butt and won't let us have any. We own a Quiznos restaurant in Hampton, which you should checkout by the way (shameless advertising). I plan to leave for basic training some time early next year, so I will not be attending classes this coming spring. Right now, I got to Dover, Delaware one weekend a month for delayed entry training. My first time was the beginning of this month. I don't exercise much, but when I got there, it was about 3-4 hours of exercise and I felt HORRIBLE when I came back. After only 2 days, I was suddenly able to do push-ups when I came back, and that actually scared me.
I like to watch dramas, read books, and listen to music. I'm not going to bore you with all the details (for now) but I LOVE kpop and you'll probably see a lot of it in my blog posts. As you can probably see, I added a little music player to my blog with a few songs. I'm using piano version because I feel like the normal version might be loud and scare the crap out of you when you open my blog. I'll probably start using the original version of songs eventually so I can add more and introduce you (and those other lurkers who might look at this) to the world of kpop. But yep, that's all for now, since I have nothing else to write about and I have gymnastics class in an hour. Oh and I cut my hair this weekend! It's so short :(
